A quick sense of scale

What does repeat
work cost your team?

$160,000a year in staff time
Find a starting point

Based on a 40-hour week. Salary value only; this is not a forecast of cash savings.

4,160 hours a year across the team, using 52 weeks. That is 25% of each person’s working week.

Behind the number

Time has a cost.
Savings need a plan.

The estimate is people × annual salary × (weekly hours on the task ÷ 40). For example, 10 hours is a quarter of a 40-hour week. Across 8 people earning $80,000 each, that is $160,000 of annual salary value.

This assumes full-time staff and a 40-hour week. The hours total uses 52 weeks without subtracting leave. It excludes benefits, payroll taxes, software and implementation costs. If your team works a different schedule, this estimate needs adjusting.

Some repeat work is necessary. Automating part of it may free time for other work without reducing payroll. To estimate an actual benefit, check the share you can remove, the time people will still spend reviewing it, and the cost to build and run the change.
